Appliances

A full kitchen should have a microwave, stove/oven, and refrigerator. These are just basic appliances that are vital when cooking at home. If you want to go above and beyond for your guests, think about investing in a coffee maker. In a survey commissioned by the National Coffee Association, 64% of Americans drink at least one cup of coffee a day.

Tableware

Tableware includes cutlery, drinkware, and plates and bowls. Take into consideration the maximum occupancy of your unit when purchasing tableware. You amount of tableware sets you purchase should be equal to your maximum occupancy limit. How awkward would that be if one person had to eat out of the pan while everyone else had their own plate?

Cookware

Your kitchen should be stocked with a somewhat wide variety of pots and pans. However, remain aware of the amount of kitchen storage space you have when purchasing cookware. Don’t be afraid to spend an extra buck or two to get quality cookware. Quality cookware will last longer and increase the amount of time before you have to replace them. That extra buck or two you initially spent can end up saving you a lot of money in the future.

Kitchen utensils

Kitchen utensils are tools that are used for food preparation. Some basic kitchen utensils that we recommend providing include a knife, spatula, can opener, ladle, mixing spoon, bottle opener, kitchen shears, and measuring cups.

Basic pantry items

Your guests will definitely thank you for having basic pantry items in stock. No one wants to go out and buy a full bottle of olive oil that they’ll probably end up using less than one-fourth of. Some basic pantry items you should supply include olive oil, salt and pepper, and garlic.

Cleaning supplies

You can’t expect your guests to clean up in the kitchen if you give don’t give them anything to clean up with! You may be focused on stocking the pantry or buying kitchen appliance, but don’t forget the small things like a bottle of soap and a sponge. A nice addition would be a pair of cleaning gloves.
